Mountain Run Farm
Mountain Run Farm is a family farm located in Sedalia, Virginia in Bedford County. Our acreage is in a serene valley with pristine mountain views of the Blue Ridge. We are continuing to improve our direct marketing enterprise to diversify what has traditionally been a cow-calf operation. Beef cattle are our main agricultural commodity, although 2002 marked a turning point for our farm. We successfully marketed home-raised beef and pastured poultry meats to our customers, straight off of the farm. This direct relationship with our customers is a very rewarding experience to us as farmers. We feel that a farmer-consumer connection is one way to make a small family farm viable in today's corporate run economy.
Now, 6 years later Mountain Run Farm is offering 100% grassfed beef, pastured poultry, pastured pork, Thanksgiving turkeys, custom catfish, and we peddle vegetables from neighboring farms. Ben raises our animals from birth with the utmost care and respect. No biosolids are used on our pastures and no GMO corn is used in our custom made pork and poultry feed. Our beef and pork is aged and hand-cut by the best butcher in Virginia. Please come out to see for yourself. The farm is always open for visiting, simply call us and we'll meet you here. Our freezer in the "saloon" is always stocked with beef and pork. Please see our "live" website for more information. Our pastured poultry is available May through October, turkeys are available the week of Thanksgiving. Catfish is available on a custom basis, call ahead for availability. We are striving to offer the healthiest meats possible through traditional farming methods and further educating ourselves on farming techniques that put our animals in their natural environments - the way of our ancestors.
